Summary: Evening/Night shift at the clinic. All welcomed, whether they be checking out the clinic, working at the clinic or that unfortunate dude who put their weapon in a very wrong spot.
Warnings: PG-13 for language and possible gore since hey IT IS A CLINIC.

[No matter how strange Zelos's life get, he can always count on his clinic shifts being one of two things: incredibly boring or incredibly strange. There was no middle ground.]

[Any night that you come in, you'll probably find Zelos sitting at the reception desk, with his feet on top if none of his bosses are around. If he's not attending to any patients or talking to staff, he seems to be reading- looks like the flavor of this month for literature is fantasy. And sometimes, he even seems to be talking to the book]

Oh come on Buttercup my beautiful flower, there's no way he'll actually release him. Jeez...

[And so on. Rest assured guys, this is a professional medic here. You can tell by the lab coat. ]

It's sort of hard to explain... I got caught up in something, and it took awhile to get everything cleared up with the military.

[ Though he does wish the circumstances behind him getting out of trouble with the law were different. ]

But I'm not a criminal.

[ Just an overly honest kid. ]

[A seemingly forced nervous smile]

Well that's okay! I'm sure circumstances like those can happen to anyone!

[ A big sigh at that as he reaches up to scratch the side of his head. ]

I know I was pretty vague with my answer, but it's not because I'm trying to hide anything. It's just... it'd take awhile to really explain everything, and that doesn't seem like the kind of story you dump on someone you just met.

Haha...hey I wasn't asking! Don't worry about it- who doesn't have dark stuff they don't like talking about in their past, right?

I mean sure, I didn't have a criminal record when I was...[checks the application] fifteen, but I've done...stuff! So no judging here!

[ When he says it like that... it just makes Jude want to explain the entire story to clear his name. ]

[And people wonder how Zelos manages to get as many scripts as he does]

Jude sighs and shakes his head. ]

I did technically enter a military complex when I shouldn't have, but...

[ No. Shhh. Jude, no. You're not helping yourself. ]

...Why would you go in there? I'm pretty sure they're clearly marked.

[ Yeah, it probably wasn't the smartest sounding move in retrospect, but it did lead to some pretty important things. ]

I has a message to deliver to someone inside the facility and couldn't get in any other way.

Oh...

That was less...dramatic than I thought.

...Did you get them the message?

[ His expression falls at that question. ]

... No, I didn't.

[That...is a very strong response for a failed message]

Oh...that sucks. Was it really important?

I guess nothing that couldn't have waited, but it was still a pretty big deal.

Hmm...well I guess you could say you tried.

Did you ever get your name cleared at least? I mean sounds like an honest mistake.

[ Somehow he doesn't look all that comforted by the thought. ]

Sort of... things are a little complicated right now, but as far as I know that part of it is cleared up.

Became a hardened criminal while you were on the run, huh?

[ A nervous grin. ]

Nothing like that.

[ And the smile immediately falters. ]

A war broke out despite our-- my best efforts to stop it from happening.

[ He sounds pretty unsure changing the pronoun there, but it's not like it's going to mean much to Zelos that he was traveling in a group. Not that the idea that a kid was single handedly trying to stop a war is impressive either. ]

Was that message to stop a war or did I just miss a huge chunk of the story here?

Ah. Huge chunk of the story then. Seems like everyone have lived interesting lives here.

To be honest with you, until recently my life was actually pretty boring.

Oddly enough? Not really.

Don't get me wrong, I'd rather be back on my world than this one. But I don't miss what I was doing before things got hectic back there.
