Location: Agriculture Wing, Moon Base to start. Cafeteria, warehouse, docking bay, VR rooms, Transport Pad, or Observatory later on.

Summary: Space Zombies are allowed out of the Agriculture Wing, slowly revving up their systems to try and infect and absorb as many of the Transports (or 12 Initiative Members) as possible.
Warnings: Log will be locked for potentially graphic violence. Please warn in threads should the violence or gore become graphic.

Everything is a success at first, from the cool rush of air out of the Agriculture Wing once the doors are fully unlocked, to the heady sense of accomplishment for finally moving forward on something good for the long-term usability of the Moon Base. It's intended to remain a resource, after all, but not be a permanent home. Fraying tempers and the sense of cabin fever descending on Transports continues to showcase how important it is to get back down on Earth to regain some breathing room.

There's little enough dust between all the unmoving, unlit structures, many even supporting the barest dried husks of what once grew there. Upon the lightest touch, they disintegrate, turning into a dust that falls to the ground. The silent rows will be reclaimed and turned into functioning units, based on Transport efforts, and Transport time invested in the project.

There's just one problem. Something stirs in the reclaimed wing, among tangles of hosing and wiring. Skitterings and movements that make no sense for a long abandoned Moon Base. The further in Transports go, relying on magic or technology to generate light past the bare minimum maintained by the base, the more disturbing sights they may run into.

Of course, the most disturbing of all might be lying just around the far corner -- but don't worry, it's only a flesh wound. Try not to get surprised in the machinery, caught suffering from not looking up or caught making out with anything unsavory this holiday season, Transports. We need all of you to stay alive!

[she grins from behind her water bottle]

My. And how old are you?

Seventeen. [Yeah, so much for worldly and experienced] Which is not VERY young.

[hyanaimne]

No, but it is still young. [she doesn't say that to be insulting, though] I was only a little younger than you when I set out on my own.

[He debates asking her how old she is now, but that is not a question you are supposed to ask a lady.] You left home, you mean? How come?

[hyanaimne]

My home was destroyed.

[and that's about all the detail she's going into while she's exhausted and can't keep up the proper masks] So I had no choice, really. [she shrugs a shoulder]

[Now he's curious, but ... what he lacks in experience, he makes up in perception, and he can see she doesn't want to go on.]

I'm sorry. [It's not an apology, but an expression of sympathy.] I understand.

[she still has no idea how to take anything resembling sympathy]

Mm . . . [and she swiftly changes the subject] That was when I was fifteen, and I am twenty-six now, so. I suppose I could say I am worldly as well.

[That's okay, he'll continue to give it, no matter.]

Yes, I would think so. You must have had adventures.

[she shrugs a shoulder]

I would not call them adventures, really. Just work.

What kind of work did you do?

[Caspian spent so much of his life isolated, with just servants and his nurse and tutor for company, that he's always very curious about other people's lives. He doesn't mean to be rude, he's just interested.]

I worked as a mercenary - a mage for hire. Groups would need protection or magic assistance, and they would pay me to do as much. Among other things.

You must have been very good at it. [At least, from what he's seen of her using her magic, in the fighting.] Dangerous work, though, I imagine.

There are not many where I am from, who use magic for what I do. [we'll leave out the other things] But yes, it was quite dangerous.

We do not have many magic users, in my country. Is it a skill you learn, or a talent you're born with?

[hyanaimne]

It is . . . both, really. Everyone is born with magic, but some do not have the capabilities to cast it. I knew a man with a great deal of magic, but he could not cast even the simplest of spells.

But both of my parents taught me - my father was a wizard.

[He's fascinated by this, as it is so outside any of his vast and worldly experience.]

What other kinds of work do magic users do? I mean, besides mercenary? Are there magic schools?

[be careful, Tempest, he'll want stories all the time.]

Schools? No, not that I know of. [she thinks for a moment] I think the richer families in the capital hire wizards to teach their children, but aside from that . . . mm, mostly healers.

Healers, yes, that would be useful. [He can't help thinking of things he would do, if he ever gets back home - seeking out magic users would be one.] Can you heal people?

[hyanaimne]

Mm, I can. [she brightens a little bit when she talks about it, because - well, childhood dreams and all] I was trained as one, when I was a girl. It was what I wanted to do with my magic.

Being able to heal people must be a wonderful thing. I would say I hope you get a chance to do so, but that would sound like I hope people would be injured, but... you understand.

[Okay, despite the food, he's still exhausted from the fighting.Blame it on that.]

[hyanaimne]

I understand. [she grins] And I am able to work as a healer here, so . . . I suppose that is my chance.

That is a good thing for you then, about being here.

Despite the bombs, and the monsters, and the moon. [He sighs. I know we're here for a reason, to help this world, but... I don't feel like I am capable of doing much.

You are not the only one. [she won't bring up her hatred for the Initiative, because that goes into a few personal issues she rarely talks about] I am certain others feel that way as well.

[He sighs again, and shakes his head.] Probably not. I don't mean to sound sorry for myself.
