[CLOSED] Mission log for sanity

[It was a beautiful late summer day on the Superior shore when they arrived. The trees and grass were green, and the waves moved in and hour peacefully with the sound of gulls. With the skies clear except for some clouds, the sun shone brightly and warmed the beach to much warmer temperatures than what the winter had been doing]

[They had come up on on the excuse of gathering supplies, but really it was more for a break of sanity. Zelos had promised to go fishing with the kid, and it was really nice to get away from everything back in Exsilium.]

[Zelos, promptly on arrival, took in the warm, snowless scenery, took in a deep breath and fell back into the soft sandy beach]

...Yeah. I don't think I wanna move for awhile.

[ the warmth slides between the layers of clothes. arya strips off the outer layer, too thin for winter, too thick for now. especially with her still overheated skin. the fever was mostly controlled, she only felt a little warm, but still prone to flare-ups.

she's not thinking of that now. rather she fills her lungs with the smell of trees and fresh air. taking off her shoes, she lets her toes curl into the sand. a short distance away, nymeria drinks water. the wind shifts and she raises her head. without wearing her skin, arya knows she's caught a scent. she watches the wolf turn and race for the cover of trees. arya wishes she too could run like that. disappear among trees and run all the way north.

ignoring zelos, arya rolls up her pant legs. she steps into the waves and shrieks in surprise. ]

Zelos! Zelos, look!

[ the water freezes where she steps. in her delight, she puts both feet over the water. between the waves and her weak balance atop ice, she falls on the damp sand. laughing, she kicks at the water. ice washes up around her. ]

Do you want a cool drink?

[wilder]

[Zelos was simply enjoying being far far away from the snow. There wasn't any white in sight besides clouds. It was wonderful]

[But at least he'll look up from where he lays when he hears a lot of noise and his real name. At least he's in a good enough mood not to correct it]

What? Why would I want that?

[wolfchild]

[ she gives him a look like "what kind of stupid question is that?" ]

If you get too hot!

[ a broad grin suddenly blooms across her face. ] Did you see? I was standing on the ice!

[wilder]

After the past week, I think it'll be awhile until I become "too hot"!

[But he sits up]

No I wasn't. Were you really?

[wolfchild]

I was! [ how do you not notice you are the actual worst.

arya frowns unhappily, hiking her feet away from the water. ]

Are you going to spend every day there on the sand?

[wilder]

That's really cool! Do you think you can do it again?

[HE'S SORRY HE TOOK HIS EYES OFF YOU FOR A MINUTE]

At least until I warm up!

[wolfchild]

[ until he warms up, huh? arya gets to her feet and jogs to him. she kneels in the sand next to zelos—and presses cold fingers to his neck. ]

[wilder]

[And he shouts and frantically gets away from those fingers]

Caaaaat!!!

[wolfchild]

[ and she gives chase! giggling, she tries to touch any patch of bare skin she can reach, whether it be his hands, neck or face. ]

[wilder]

[And he keeps making noises as he tries to get her to top! Grabbing her wrist!]

Stop that!!

[wolfchild]

I want a hug! Why won't you let me hug you?

[ yeah zelos. why are you so mean. ]

[wilder]

Because your hands are freezing!!

[wolfchild]

Then let me warm them against you! Body warmth is the best for cold. [ true facts, yo. ]

[wilder]

Not when you're an ice mage! You'll just keep making them cold on purpose!

[wolfchild]

I would not! [ would so. ]

[wilder]

...Oh. I have trouble believing that, my little wolf.

[wolfchild]

[ she laughs and jumps on him, tackling him to the ground. her fingers are still cool, though not because she is making them that way. ]

Ha! I pinned you!

[ and to claim her victory, she kisses him on the nose. ]

[wilder]

Ah-!

[Tackled by a child! He sputters at some of the sand in ihs mouth and tries to lift her up so she's not...kneeing his gut]

That's not a hug!

[wolfchild]

[ okay.

she slings her arms around his neck as best she's able and hugs him tight.

zelos wilder: incapable of learning to keep his mouth shut. ]

[wilder]

[he makes a small surprised sound. Oh wow that's a tight hug]

Uh-

[Yep. Here. have a pat on the back]

[wolfchild]

[ shifting, she grins down at him. ]

Come on, let's go in the water!

[wilder]

What?

[oh hell no]

I dunno...how about you find Curry? See how she's doing?

[wolfchild]

Fine. [ scrambling off him, she looks around. ] Curry! Here, Curry! What are you doing? What are you doing, pup?

[ when the vulpix comes close enough, arya picks her up. holding her like a baby, she returns to zelos. ]

What do we do now?

[wilder]

[And he breaths as she goes to get Curry. Because yes good, no little child climbing all over him or forcing him into this water]

[But he'll look over when they approach. Oh, that didn't take as long as he thought it would]

Oh uh...I guess we could try fishing?

[wolfchild]

You have the poles, right? Do we have to dig up our own bait? Are we staying here or are we going someplace else?

[ stop her before she keeps asking questions. ]
