Operation: Roll Out

Location: Neo Las Vegas, in what formerly was called Turkey.

Summary: Transports have been sent to Neo Las Vegas to gather information on the origin point of the United Earth and the UE AI. Conference sabotage and the rest is expected and invited!

By day, the landscape isn't desert, precisely, so much as it is dry. Winter's settled in and found in the biting chill of the wind when it finds you standing on the street. Hovercars and taxis thrum down the cobblestone streets, cavorting and honking like a noisy crowd of inelegant, overweight geese. Men walk by on stilts half in make-up, on their way back to their stage for the next night. Walks of shame are taken proudly in this district, one of the few approved and sanctioned vacation zones in the United Earth.

Evidence of law enforcement can be found all around, but they seem altogether too pleased to be there too. Talk with any one of them about crime rates, and they're liable to laugh at the idea. Those who come to gamble know the house is rigged to win. It's not about making or breaking the bank -- people whose funds dip too low are politely escorted back to their rooms and given a set of normal playing cards -- but it is about enjoyment.

Of the flesh too, and it'd be difficult to find anyone working in Neo Las Vegas who suffers from modesty, or anyone visiting who seems unwilling to politely ask visitors and staff if they'd like to keep them company for the night. In fact, Transports may find themselves needing to turn down multiple such requests! The refusal is always taken well. These are people looking to have a good time, and that's all.

No chance taken, nothing gained, right?

At night, the city really comes alive, the lights in all the hotels and casinos turning the Neo Las Vegas Strip into a carnival of sensation. Drinks and recreational drugs are freely passed around, men and women engage in a variety of sexual and other hedonistic excesses without regret, and the beautiful interiors and ostentatious or playful exteriors of the buildings hide and reveal a rich tapestry of events, delectables, and desires waiting to be fulfilled.

Neo Las Vegas is a fun place, and it is a safe place, and it is Where the Conferences For Our Future Are Made. Playtime is on, gang.

[Francœur was happy to see him in such high spirits. He even hunched down so Johnny could get that arm around his shoulder. He made a sound, which, from the way he smiled, was probably laughter of some sort. This was probably just the alcohol talking and not Johnny himself.

He raised his glass of wine to Johnny, the first and only drink he had all night. Santé.]

[Johnny raises his glass back, grinning ear to ear.] Yeah man, cheers! Whatcha think of crazy new Vegas? I mean, I only ever went to the old one once, and I was like ten at the time, but this is way better. So better. I ain't leavin'.

[He cooed like a bird, a sound he usually made whenever he was happy. 'Crazy new Vegas' as Johnny put it, was a great place to be. There were so many happy faces here. He patted his friend on the back with a large, gloved hand.

After finishing his wine, he mimed playing a guitar and then he held his hand out to his friend. Did Johnny bring his guitar with him? Surely, he would miss it if he left it back in Exsilium.]

Oh, yeah, I got it with me! I got a room so I kept in there for the night cuz uh, I knew I was gonna be out drinkin' 'n gamblin' and shit, ya know? But I never leave home without it. Well. Mostly. Depends on where we're goin'. But I thought this would be a great place to jam out. Man, I could probably even get a job here playin' music. Do we really gotta go back to that frozen-over wasteland?

[Johnny's really animated when he's been drinking. Everything is accompanied by grand gestures and exaggerated facial expressions. He's got a good pout going on by the end of that.]

[His turned his palms over and shrugged up his shoulders. That answer was best left to another, wiser person and another, more sober time. For now, they were here. Why not enjoy it? He reached for his acoustic guitar and tapped the body twice. He would be ready to play with Johnny should the time come.]

Ya wanna rock this house down now? Shit, dude, I'll go back and grab it, ya don't gotta tell me twice. This place won't even know what hit 'em. Lemme... uh... [He looks left, then right, then left again before turning back to Francoeur again, wobbling on his feet a bit.] Where was I stayin' again?

[Well that was not exactly what he meant. He looked uncertain. Could Johnny even play in his condition? He hummed as he shook his head, not knowing where Johnny stayed either. As his friend wobbled, he braced him by placing his hand against his back.

He chirped with concern. Just how many drinks did Johnny have?]

[He plays better when he's had a few! No, not really, but he's say that, and he's had more than a few. When Johnny drinks, it's like an Olympic competition. He brings his A-game. It's a good thing his constitution is incredibly strong.]

What? 'M fine. Seriously! I just, uh. This town's pretty big, ya know? It's easy to get lost.

[The look on his face made it obvious that he was not convinced. However, the hotel seemed like a good place for Johnny to rest. He held out his hotel room card, gesturing for his friend to show him his own. At least with that he would be able to tell where he was staying.

He stood up and he paid for his drink. Now he was ready to walk with Johnny back to his room.]

Aw, c'mon, man! We can't turn in already. The night's young! And we ain't even gonna be here for a week! We gotta get in all the fun we can. [Good luck with getting him to go back to the hotel.]

[Was Johnny seriously planning to do this the entire time they were here? He would need luck, and perhaps more.]

Krr...

[His chirp was small and sounded hesitant. He did not think it was a great idea, but what could he do? It was Johnny's decision.]

[Oh no, you're not getting off easy, buddy. Johnny's going to try to drag him with him.]

Ya weren't plannin' on sittin' in here all night, were you? There's a whole big town out here waiting for us. We gotta enjoy it while we can.

[His eyes turned wide. When did this suddenly become 'we'? As much as it shocked him, he did not have the heart to refuse his friend. In the end, he lingered with a hesitant but curious expression on his face. Just what did Johnny have in mind?]

C'mon! Have ya played any cards yet? Checked out a show? The world is our oyster, man. If you want it, this place's got it. It's great!

[Johnny's suffering from a bit of sensory overload. You'll have to forgive him.]

[Johnny seemed far more excited about it. He waved his hand, suggesting that his friend should make the decisions and he would follow. Francœur had fun already from dancing and singing earlier. For now, he decided to be with Johnny and hope that he did not get into too much trouble.]
