transport log » ❝ welcome to Exsilium ❞

Date & Time: Oct. 24th
Location: The Initiative Hold
Characters: Everyone.
Summary: New Transports have all arrived and have been led to a banquet room within the Hold.
Warnings: None.

NOTE: This takes place during this plot, though the plot log will not be posted until tomorrow. The Transports already in game have returned from their mission to find the island overrun with monsters. The log is set within the safety of the Initiative Hold, however, so while characters will be aware of what is going on outside, they can otherwise go about their business as usual if they choose.

--

You've just been hustled and bustled through mazes of information and literal, wide corridors of the Initiative Hold and you've been equipped with your weapon—be it a gun, a sword, or even your existing powers. They've handed you this light netbook and a small pouch of coins (or a debit card, if you're more inclined), and there are several Transports before and after you going through the very same motions. You can hear the Greeter's voice as she walks alongside large groups, telling them all about the history of this place and sharing with you your purpose here in a hurried and urgent tone. She looks worse for wear, pale and gaunt, though is putting a great deal of effort into maintaining her energy and professionalism for the new Transports. "I am truly sorry that you came at such a bad time. That wasn't intentional, I assure you."

She leads the way through the Initiative Hold. The walls bear the occasional claw mark as a sign of the misfortune that has plagued the island, but it hardly seems deserted anymore due to the other Transports recently returning from their mission. After turning several corners, you arrive in a large room that has been transformed into a makeshift banquet hall. The food presented is perhaps not as luxurious or bountiful as one would hope, but it is certainly enough to go around, and isn't inedible by any means.

"We wanted to try and make this up to you," she explains. "It's meagre, but we did not have much time to prepare." There are a number of Transports already present, some looking over the long banquet table, others seated throughout the room at large, round tables meant to each seat eight people. The mood is grim, despite the Initiative's efforts to raise morale.

Before the Greeter turns to leave, she is reminding you that it will be perfectly safe to explore the Hold, the courtyard, the housing building, and even a several block radius around it. "Hopefully things will be back to normal soon."

Welcome to the banquet. Welcome to the Initiative Hold—and most importantly, welcome to Exsilium.

Cairistiona knew she was going against natural law by just existing in the realm of the living more than she should have, but she supposed that was how things worked out. Still, she would at least try to be civil with this girl so as to not frighten her more than she possibly was.

"What...are they?" she asked, observing the plate before her before she picked it up with her hand. Someone hadn't been to Pandaria yet.

[She makes a small "hmm" noises and looks closer as well.]

Whatever it is, it's likely to be from this world, so we probably shouldn't spend too much time studying it. I doubt we'll be able to identify the marks right away.

[Looking back to the other newcomer, M'gann offers a hand for a handshake!]

I'm M'gann.

[ He nods his agreement. If this was really a different world, it was likely the creatures would be different from anything they knew too. The marks at the very least gave him an estimate of how big the creature was.

He holds his finger up as a way to tell her to hold on a second before quickly setting his mace down and fishing a miniature blackboard out of his pocket along with a piece of chalk. He writes something on it and flips it so M'gann can see before shaking her hand.

Written on the board in surprisingly neat handwriting: ]
I'm Jacquese. Nice to meet you.
mgann: <user name=terrier> (Smile)

[personal profile] mgann 2012-10-25 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[A puzzled look crosses her face before she pulls out the board, which then makes it obvious to her as she nods.]

Nice to meet you, too. If it's okay, I have a much easier way to communicate if you'd like.

[He did, indeed, find dumplings. They aren't great, but they're better than what he normally gets to eat. He considers handing her some but only for a brief second-- because then he's grabbing one from his plate and SHOVING IT INTO HIS MOUTH like the immature kid he is.

You're on your own, teddy bear.]

[ That's a very curious statement to make to him and he tilts his head quizzically. Although that probably gets his point across already, he still erases the text with a simple swipe of his hand and replaces it with: ]

How?

Lucy thought about it - and with the number of various types of people around, she had to admit. He had a point. And odds are once the adrenaline of everything wore off, she would be famished. "You're right, I should get something. I wouldn't want to be left out and go hungry. Do a lot of people get pulled through to this place often?"

Honestly, the reception to this place compared to their arrival in Edolas was a lot nicer. To a degree anyway. But that was like comparing apples and oranges.

...

She really wanted an orange right now.

Nodding with a proud smile, Lucy tackled the next question, "I'm not a very physical fighter, but I can fight, yes. Actually, I'm a Celestial Wizard, from Fairy Tail. Several of my teammates - I don't know if they were pulled here or not, but they're more physical fighters than I am." She admits with a small chuckle.

Ohgosh, panda style. Even the name sounded cute. "Really? No one else fights the way you do?"

[As soon as she reads that, he should feel something a little different in his mind. It's nothing bad or uncomfortable, just different. M'gann smiles, and without speaking, Jacquese can hear her 'voice' in his mind.]

{Like this.}

[Ghost slides into a seat across from elf. Not an inch of skin can be seen on the woman, even her head is covered by a hood and mask. A mask that makes her look more a robot than human. And her arms are a strange sight as well. They're made up of a strange energy of green, blue, yellow and black that shifts and pulses as if it's alive on it's own.

The uniform she wears looks pristine, mostly black with blue paneling along the sides and gold accents here and there.
]

Is there a reason you sit alone? [The voice that filters through the mask is almost hollow and robotic.]

[personal profile] bloodspeaker 2012-10-25 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[Adrasteius turns his unkindly appraising stare on this newcomer, taking in his physical features--hmm, interesting ears, but the eyes aren't quite right--and the weapons strapped to his body. His expression darkens as he observes these; this stranger may not be a blood elf, but so far he doesn't seem like he'd be out of place on Azeroth--and to Adra, that's definitely not a good thing.]

I realize that it didn't work. Your keen observation of the fucking obvious is greatly appreciated.

[he doesn't answer the latter half of the statement, because to his douchebag mind it's not even relevant--the others here were not mages, to his knowledge, with the ability to teleport between worlds easily.]
bloodspeaker: (done pleading ignorance)

[personal profile] bloodspeaker 2012-10-25 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[Another blood elf? And a child, at that? Adra's eyes widen, partly in concern, partly in agitation.]

Stop shoveling that slop into your gullet.

[he holds up another very tasty-looking strudel.]

Try this, instead.

[Jacquese is something that Adra hasn't seen before--what's with the horns, he thinks--but he does know holy magic when he feels it. It puts him in a slightly more favorable mood towards this stranger.]

Yes? Do you need something, or is it your habit to stand there and gawk at people?

[only slightly, though.]

[ The sudden voice in his head is startling, to say the least. For a moment all he can do is stare and blink uncertainly, briefly considering that it might have been his imagination, but by the looks of her, no. She was communicating with... thoughts? That was definitely an easier way of communicating if it went both ways.

Tentatively, but also hopefully, he tries speaking back to her. ]

{Is this magic?}

[ The 'voice' he thinks in doesn't match his appearance in the slightest. He's never had a voice of his own, so consequently the voice in his head sounds very similar to Father Remiel's, a soft, gentle baritone. ]

[She shakes her head before responding to indicate she 'heard' him.]

{No, it's telepathy. I can form a psychic link between people so they're able to communicate quietly or easily. It works well on certain occasions.}

"And if my world is threatened before then?"

He tears angrily into at his food at the thought. "I cannot allow the thing, even to preserve the lives here. As king of Asgard I must place its welfare first, even in death."

[Well, someone's noisy. And potentially a danger to the other people here. So Balder approaches her carefully.]

I doubt they are here, m'lady, lest they risk said wrath. [He shakes his head.] I think they are not so foolish.

[ Jacquese doesn't take offense, the mood the odd-looking stranger was in was understandable considering their situation, plus he was staring. He smiles sheepishly and holds his hand up in an apologetic gesture before he sets his mace down and gets out a miniature blackboard and some chalk. He writes something before flipping the board. ]

My apologies, your magic is very impressive. Was that your home?

[ Telepathy wasn't something Jacquese knew a lot about. He'd heard the word before, but suffice to say this was the first time he had any experience with it. He looks suitably impressed. ]

{ That is amazing, how convenient! So you can communicate with anything this way? }

[Balder waits a few moments but it doesn't seem as though the ... elf? is going to relax. When he does not, Balder finally gives in and approaches him, keeping care to stay in his line of sight.]

The battle appears to be outside. It would be best to gather your strength for when we confront it.
bloodspeaker: (you've given up trying)

[personal profile] bloodspeaker 2012-10-25 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[Adra squints at the board, and then up at the man in front of him. The conclusion here is obvious, and it softens him up a little more. He glances at the portal, which has slowly begun to fade, and exhales, his ears wilting slightly.]

Yes. Silvermoon City. I was on my way to somewhere important, but I suppose it's a moot point now.

"Just Balder is fine, m'lady." He shakes her hand. His grip isn't crushing like one might expect--he's well aware of humanity's thinner skins. "An attorney? We do not have them at home but I did not think they were warriors."

It might explain why she was wearing duck slippers.

[ Jacquese's smile turns sympathetic. He could relate, he'd been on his way to something important as well, but it didn't seem they could do anything about it now that they were here. ]

I'm sorry. It looks like a beautiful place.

Ghost had nearly dozed off while following the woman, not that anyone would have been able to tell with the mask that covered her face. Once the woman was gone Ghost wandered about the area she'd been shown to. Already there were a lot of people gathered. Worrisome but at this point she had other things on her mind.

No, she wasn't accustom to inter-dimensional travel so the whole situation bothered her. But she was significantly more worried about the situation she'd left at home. She prayed her team had made it to safety and feared what she might be returning to.

For the time being she traveled around the outer reaches of the room, stopping on occasion to inspect anything that caught her interest.

She was certain to be a strange sight to most. Tall, clad mostly in a black suit with blue paneling and gold accents. She wore a helmet over her head that made her appear to be some kind of robot, although most of the helmet was covered by her hood. But the strangest thing of all was her arms. They were somewhat transparent, made of a shifting and pulsing energy that appeared alive on it's own. The energy itself was akin to the night's sky, all blues and greens and yellows amid inky black. On top of it all her arms didn't move naturally.

Her appearance and the blatant display of her arms was the main reason she wasn't getting too close to anyone at the moment. She knew how unsettling her arms could be but she had no way to cover them for the time being.

“I’m Ico.”

He looked at Larsa’s sword. It was not surprising that he was armed and he had no reaction to it aside from studying its features. He did not share his tension. Ico’s own shield and sword were on him but he did not see the need to be ready to draw it. The sword was large and yet Ico held it as if he had it all his life. The white scabbard was out of place, however, as it did not match its brilliance. The Initiative had given him the scabbard so that he may carry the sword on a baldric.

“Everyone else is here. All the Transports. A lot of us fight well so you’re safe here,” Ico said. As observant as he was, he mistakenly thought Larsa’s worry was for his own safety. “I don’t know what it was that made this,” he waved at the wall, “But we killed it. It’s not coming back.”
