Summary: Welcome to the grand opening of the Usual Place Movie Theatre! Tonight we're showing a mostly faithful rendition of Crank as restored by Billy, with refreshments available at minimal cost via Charlie's ingenuity and Collette's general statement that no movie is complete without access to popcorn. Please enjoy the show!
Warnings: Crank is a ridiculous film if you've ever seen it. That is technically PG-13/R, but the log itself should be much more tame!
Notes: Action, prose, or gif-spam each other at will. Just have fun with the first up and running movie theatre in Exsilium since goodness knows when!

[A theatre! He hadn't been to one in quite a long time, and the thought of going to one now was positively exciting! That was why Sohki could be found there with a small tub of popcorn waiting for the movie to start. While he'd heard of the movie Crank when it was originally released, the kirin had no interest in watching it. Well there was no time like the present, was there?!]

[Clive would be leaving in the early mornings of the next morning, but she couldn't resist the urge to investigate what this so-called movie theatre was. That was why she bypassed the opening to see just what it was all about on her way to her hideout within the vast ruins of the city.

Elza could be found on the outskirts of the theatre in the darkest corner and would have been shrouded entirely within the shadows if it wasn't for the cinema screen.]

[Johnny is so stoked for this. He LOVES action movies, and he hasn't seen one since he's gotten to Exsilium in the eight months since he's been here. He's grabbed himself some popcorn and snuck in a beer under his coat. Old habits die hard. He's waiting for it to start, plopped in a seat towards the back. He looks pretty happy. How unusual! Care to join him?]

[It was just Johnny's luck that Sohki came into the movie theatre and perched himself in the closest seat available to him - the one directly in front of where he sat. Whether he had done it on purpose wasn't certain and Sohki wouldn't say one way or another. No, instead the kirin sat there 'watching' the movie with both his popcorn and his eyes closed. He was blind, after all.]

[Wouldn't it just figure? Some things never changed. Johnny huffed.]

Yo, down in front! C'mon, there's like a ziliion other seats and ya gotta pick that one?

[The shout-outs didn't bother Sohki in the slightest. Instead he glanced back over his shoulder as if surprised to see somebody seated behind him. Granted his eyes remained constantly closed even as he 'looked' at the other.]

Oh my! However did I miss you~

[Ralph's never been to a theater before, in fact, he's not sure he's ever seen a movie at all. Aren't they just really long cutscenes? Most of the gamers seem to hate those. Either way, he's excited, and has found himself a spot off to the side of the large seating area, and has made himself relatively comfortable in his two seats with an extra large bucket of popcorn. He's willing to share!]

[Sohki was already seated when his overly large companion came to sit right near him. Peering over at the man beside him, the kirin regarded him with closed eyes as he smiled.]

This is all rather exciting, isn't it?

[Ralph smiles at the strange man by him and nods in agreement.]

Yeah, I suppose. I've never really done this before so I don't really know what I'm in for really. Definitely heard a lot about "movies" though. Have you seen this one?

[He offers some of his popcorn to the man, it's unlikely he'd be able to finish all of it himself, despite his statue.]

You've never been? Oh then you have to see this one!

[There's a look of surprise on the kirin's face. Ralph might notice that his eyes remain constantly closed throughout their conversation.]

Not at all~ this movie came out a few years before arriving here.

[Meliantha's seen plays before, but has no idea what a movie is. But she's got a bit of extra money, so she's decided to see what it's all about. The popcorn amuses her, but she buys some, and something to drink, and goes to look for a seat to settle down in, wondering if she'll see anyone she knows.]

[ It's not really her kind of movie, to be honest, but a movie is a movie, right? And she hasn't been to a theatre in forever. So after leaving a quick message for her running crew, she trotted off to check the theatre out. It'll be relatively easy to find her if they needed to, at least. Thus armed with a drink and a small container of popcorn, she settled in, brown eyes scanning the room briefly for anyone she recognized. It's always better to sit with friends, after all! ]

[This experience offers Wrathion two things he's never done before: watching a movie and eating popcorn. He's seated ideally, in the middle of the middle row, licking butter off of his fingers and watching the screen with wide eyes.

Well, it's violent and there are a lot of things exploding. He has to admire that, at least.]

Such advanced technology, and it's used for this?

[a pause. he eats more popcorn.]

[Tintin isn't much one for movies, but he had gone along after seeing the announcement on the network because it seemed like something notable for the community; if he was going to be any sort of journalist here, he was going to have to stay on top of current affairs.

The content of the film however was...less than-- he can't-- there aren't quite words-- He finds himself sitting in his seat, stricken to silence with his pen hovering over his writing pad. It's only when the person in the neighboring seat expresses his excitement that Tintin snaps out of the violence-induced trance to turn to the man next to him.]

What? But-- this is a nightmare! Who made this?!

I can't tell you that, friend, but I do think you ought to try relaxing and enjoying yourself! I personally find this to be a very compelling entertainment.

[Tintin opens and closes his mouth once or twice, then sinks lower into his seat. Under his breath:] I imagine gladiator games must be popular with you as well.

( Collette, hearing the word magnificent despite being several aisle away, turns to grin and toss an idle wave at whoever just spoke. )

[The demon's been wandering the city more frequently in search of a private area to escape the confines of the Hold, and today is no exception.

The handful of humans he encounters in the theater are easily ignored as he begins his exploration of the strange building, thinking it may just suit his purposes. That idea comes to an abrupt halt, however, when the movie starts, assailing his sensitive hearing and sight mercilessly.

Stepping back, he glares at the screen, ready to destroy with one fling of his whip.]

( Sesshoumaru has met her body before, though Collette knows nothing about that. As it is, she's sitting in her wheelchair in the free space by the aisle with gaps left for such alternative uses. This guy had been wandering around just as things started to go.

Collette hadn't thought he'd sit at all! And now -- now, she grins, restraining a giggle. )

We call them movies! Moving pictures, films, flicks, pick your choice of word! It's entertainment in the 20th century and beyond.

[The demon is actually crouching, ready to strike out at the monstrosity before him when he hears a familiar voice.

No, wait. Not exactly the same, and when he turns, he sees why. Others had returned to their normal state after being switched, so the demon can only surmise the case is true here--otherwise, the voice would have more than likely have contained a hint of recognition.]

They are an abomination, no matter what else they are called.

[So the day before went real swell.

Well, if swell meant that Lee spent the day by himself, with no power, in an absolutely foul mood. One part of him can't let go of what Kara suggested about Dee. His wife and a Cylon, apparently. The other desperately wants to believe Kara was full of it and looking for ammo.

Somehow, after beating the hell out of his body in training on Sunday, he feels a lot better. Enough so that after he grabs a shower, gets dressed, and has lunch, he's willing to go make amends with Kara. If the network is to be believed, he has a hell of a surprise for her.]

Kara? It's me, open up.

[Lee will just come banging on her door sometime around noon.]

[Kara spent the rest of the day before drunk, drunker, and very very drunk. She's still nursing the mother of all hangovers, in fact, as she comes staggering out of the shower. In a towel. And is that Lee at the door?

Nothing for it. If he's here, it's probably important and whatever their personal problems, there are bigger ones out there that necessitate that they actually work together. Yeah she's still crabby with him, and with herself, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

She opens the door without any ceremony or being flustered about being in a towel. Serving on Galactica kind of tosses any sort of modesty out the window.]

Morning, sir.

[Okay maybe she couldn't resist the smallest snarky jab there.]

[Lee doesn't appear to be in a rush, worried, or especially serious. He's managed to get his hands on a pair of BDUs so he can just wear his tanks rather than the duty uniform. While he's armed, he hasn't bothered to bring along the Initiative given weapon so he apparently isn't under duress.

After a look up and down (what, he can never help himself) Lee sighs. Dramatically.]

Don't do that. I'm not here 'on business' Kara.

[He doesn't invite himself in but he does look past Kara into the flat. Its, well, its exactly what he expects of her. Lee has been hoping that whoever she got paired with had a better sense of cleanliness. Not so much apparently.]

...Do you want to go see a movie? Apparently they have those here. Or. One at any rate.
