I'm not scared. I've fought way worse than some overgrown lizard. [God, what a baby. She is extremely leery about the water, but she won't admit to it — it's a matter of pride.

Her expression evens out a bit (she at least looks less irritable).] Yeah, I guess. [Honestly, she was a little bored, and the opportunity to talk was a welcome one.] There's not a lot to do. I gotta find Sayaka later, [to make sure she wasn't doing anything stupid] but besides that...

Didja see anything down there?

[limitstorm]

[ which is a cue for him to take off his goggles, though he squints and frowns. ugh. he can never see like this... ]

I need my glasses... [ a shake of his head. ]

I saw some pretty cool stuff, nothing that'd bite my head off. Outside the barrier, that's another story.

[ eyes flicker up to kyouko again, even if he can't see her quite right. ]

Sayaka was watching dinosaurs, wasn't she? I saw her pressed up against the barrier earlier.

[invocation]

You wear glasses? [Nerd. In all seriousness though, she didn't peg him the type.]

Yeah, that sounds like something she'd do. It's a good thing she can't get out of the barrier, y'know.

[limitstorm]

Not usually. I wear contacts--kinda hard to fight in glasses. [ he rubs an eye. ] You'd think healing spells could heal stuff like that.

What, would you chase her down? [ he cracks a smirk--but it falls all the same. ] I probably would, too.

[invocation]

[Sounds like someone needs to talk to Homura. If only Kyouko knew that to give a recommendation.] Yeah, I'd think so. Maybe Sayaka could do it... [Her wish had healed that boy, after all.]

And yeah, I'd have to chase her around. She'd probably try to ride one of the dinosaurs, or somethin' dumb like that.

[limitstorm]

Nah. [ he shakes his head. ] I couldn't do anything for her back. I'll stick to glasses and contacts. Besides, it's not that big a deal. I can see in the dark, anyway.

[ but the thought of riding on dinosaurs gives him pause, makes him pinch at the rubber tie of his goggles, absentmindedly looking to the barrier. ]

You think we could?

[ and yet again, riku shows his affinity to sayaka. ]

Like she'd care. She's always doing stuff like that. [It's hard to tell, but it's said with some gruff fondness.

Riku's mild curiosity about the dinosaurs makes her frown, though.] Don't you start too. We're in the barrier anyway.

[limitstorm]

[ 8( party pooper. he sets his goggles back on, thankful that he can see her again. ah, prescription goggles. ]

Yeah, I guess you have a point.

Even if she does do stuff like that, I don't think I'd be comfortable like that.

[invocation]

You guys are too alike.

[Kyouko leans back against the sand, staring up at the sky. After being away from the sun for months, it seemed so much brighter here.] It's really a pain...

[She covers her face, and mutters:] If I didn't know better, I'd think I had two Sayakas.

[limitstorm]

We're not...

[ that alike, he starts to say, but then he remembers how sayaka fought against the ue drones and he remembers the way he fought against the stragglers in elmer's world. ... no, all things considered, he and sayaka are pretty similar. so instead, he asks-- ]

So how are you two, anyway?

[invocation]

We're alright.

[She sits up again, coughs into her fist. Things had been going pretty good, better than good, but she wasn't comfortable enough yet to really go into detail about it.

They hadn't even told Madoka...] She's been happy, the kid too. Akemi's the same as always, but...

[She remembers something, the attack from those weeks ago, and her expression sobers.] Somethin' weird happened with me though, a while ago.

[ riku brings his full attention back to her. ]
