THIS PARTY IS OFF DA HOOK...

[ ...So here is an overflow log for the Versailles Masquerade ball! The last one is approaching 3000 comments, which DW asks communities to try and avoid going over, so you're welcome to move your threads here if you're having issues loading the big fat log.

NEW CHARACTERS: YOU ARE STILL WELCOME TO TAG IN! Just refer back to this entry for all the pretty HTML and setting set-up and such. Set up a new root comment, or continue individual threads — whatever's easiest for y'all. ]

[Well he thought it was funny, Belthazar. Lighten up.]

I recall I asked you a question.

[It takes him a second to remember. And then another to decide if he wants to entertain the weirdo tonight.]

This is a book on arcane theory. Specifically, this chapter talks about reversing the threads of magic to achieve a stable barrier that would keep certain creatures from passing but allow others to come and go as they please. It's a variation on classic runestone wards, drawing power from the leylines as needed without a conductor.

[Wow he understood like...three of those words, but it's the word 'runestone' that sticks in his memory and both intrigues and confuses him, since only a witch would speak about magic having 'threads'. Strange.]

Are you a runespeaker?
arcanepower: (nope.)

No. [He scoffs.] Runemasters are overly-muscled idiots who think they understand the flow of energy in the world. I am an arcanist-- specifically, the apprentice of Magister Adrasteius Bloodspeaker.

[That should explain a lot about his attitude.]

[Still sounds like a runespeaker to him]

Should I know who that is?
