No, not really.

[Continuing to serenely sew.]

I just mean - so many different "governments". I never know what to expect from your species on that basis alone. [She says governments kind of like a mother of a regrettably Pokemon-addicted child would say "types".]

Ico copied the way Gamzee moved his hands to understand the shape of the horns. It was not a good description. He wondered how horns could be like the sea.

"I guess I like shorter ones because sometimes my horns get stuck." He quickly added, "But I wouldn't trade them for anything."

Oh, yeah. I guess we do. Politics makes no damn sense to me so I can't help you on that.

[And he feels a little guilty for being suspicious, whoops.]

"Well..." Kanji took a moment to think that over. He could hem the new shirt, but that'd require Ico to try it on and-- That'd work.

"I'll fix your other shirt first, 'cause I'd have to see the new one on you to hem it up right anyway, an' might as well fix the other one while it's off.]

"Artificial pseudoliving objects created using advanced magic. Some people call them abominations against natural existence."

"I know how that's motherfucking being! I got a bro who's up and got horns going out what like yours do. My own are being hard for some shit too."

Though they didn't stick out, they did stick up, and Gamzee was already dreadfully tall. Especially here, with smaller doors and buildings he'd come up with things where he'd bang his horns if he forgot to duck, and that sent shocks all down through him.

"Get them all banged up on the doors."

"Are they still somewhat human, like androids of sort? Or more like robots?"

"Okay."

Ico removed his Mark first, taking delicate care to avoid catching it on his horns. Beneath the Mark were a number of holes where Ico had not been so careful with his tunic. He switched shirts and placed his Mark back on.

"Thank you, for this," he said as he held out his tunic. "My name is Ico, by the way. What's yours?"

Just hearing about it was enough. Ico had hit his horns on doors before and he rubbed his head as if he felt the pain running through it.

"There's a troll with horns like mine? What's his name? Is he here?"

[ Was that the wrong answer? Her face falls, but — no, that's silly, don't let him see that. Even if he is younger and she can't tell if... she's supposed to set an example, or the other way around, or what.

...Until the second part. That just gets a blink, and she scours her memory. Oath? What oath? Was there anything about that in the old files? Not that she can remember... ]

Uh... what about it?

Not near enough, apparently.

[She lifts two fingers towards the bar, earns herself a somewhat judgmental stare from the bartender on staff, who can't seem to tell if it's a Native American woman or a man beneath the shawl she's got on, but ultimately he gives up and brings around a few shots.]

Doesn't it get boring, playing by the rules all the time?

( They are frightening, well and truly. )

There was someone who wanted me to become a Hero very much.

( he sounds more tired than bitter about that fact, and when they're served, he picks up his glass without looking at it, more something to do with his hands rather than getting ready to drink it. )

And wouldn't take no for an answer. Anyway, I wouldn't call it boring. It's... ( hm. ) ...satisfying.

( not that he sounds completely convinced of this, which means it's time to take that shot. )

"His name is Tavros, and he's being the best of bros." The first part was said happily enough, but it was hard to hold onto the cheer when the next question was asked. "Not being here, but more motherfuckers are always showing themselves."

Even as he said that, he couldn't muster up the hope to really believe it so it fell flat.

"No problem, man! I'm Kanji; nice to meetcha!"

Kanji was clearly curious about the Mark, but the tunic caught his attention quickly. At least he did have fabric to patch things up where the holes were too big to sew. It wouldn't look very pretty, but it'd be serviceable.

"Uh, hey, got any preference for color on the patches? They'll probably stand out."

[And an eyebrow gets raised at the eyebrow getting raised.]

What else was I gonna come in here for? It's a restaurant!

O-Oh, it's Shirou Emiya.

[...Wait a sec, that name sounds sort of familiar-]

This might sound a bit weird, but do you have any nickname I can call you with?

It's okay! It's not like you chose to forget, right? It's just all the weird stuff with time and memories that these places are able to mess with.

[Though now that he thought of it, that did raise the question of whether or not he was that Yggdrasill and whether or not he was at that point yet. He seemed as nice as ever though, so it was probably okay, right?]

Yeah, I hope so too!

Paul - it - icks. [She plays with that word like an erector set. In a negative way. Stop playing games for boys, assface.]

I've never met anybody who does, don't hold it against yourself.

Well that doesn't sound promising. And now probably isn't the best time to admit that he spent a lot of money on the hat he's sporting, either. Whoops.

[ If Miles Edgeworth were a man more inclined to playfulness, this would, perhaps, be the perfect time to try the hat on for himself. As it stands, however, Edgeworth is not that man, so he just stands there, holding the hat in his hands, awkwardly. ]

Well if a large group of people suddenly came to my town and seemed mostly intent on telling me who I should vote for, I'd get suspicious too.

I'd say I could buy some, but I'm all out of money. A piece of rope should do though, so I'll get it!

[He's not even going to wait for either of them to say anything, just gonna slip away and find some rope.

This is how he understood they led horses around anyway without reins.]

She looks sure, right? It'll be fine.

[Aaaand he'll say what he says to Kougyoku and go to get rope. Borrowing. Rope. Yeah.]
