Summary: Legitimate fixes to the apartment that do not involve duct tape plus a dinner!!
Warnings: I think this entire cast is a warning.

[After the whole duct tape fiasco, or maybe because of it, they'd finally gotten someone to agree to repairing it. And since they have extra guests, it makes senses to do something like a family dinner, right? Only probably is that they don't really have the space for that even, but it won't stop them from trying! If they could cram that many people in the apartment last time, this should be considerably easier. So after some finagling, a dinner had been set up! This is that dinner.

[The kitchen is not nearly as busy this time! But the fresh aroma of food cooking that drifts from the doorway is still pretty strong. Looks like whoever is cooking in there is really setting up a feast for dinner. It's nice having three cooks around, isn't it? Some people might be banned from the kitchen this time (Asbel).]

[Don't ban Christopher from the kitchen! He loves kitchens. He loves cooking, especially when people cook for loved ones. So he ends up in the kitchen, not hovering but watching Cheria cook. After a moment, in his gentle, musical tones, he inquires,] Would you like any help?

[flashmaiden]

[He's yet to anything that warrants banning, so he stay! She turns to his voice, surprised that someone else was in the kitchen. She'd been so absorbed in what she was doing, she hadn't noticed. She doesn't recognize him. A friend of...?]

Oh! Um- you don't have to. You're a guest, you know? We should be cooking for you.

*Pascal just walks right in. So of course if it actually worked out well the last time she stepped in is up to Cheria.*

[No, Pascal is banned too. She turns away from the stove, her spoon brandished dangerously. This is her kitchen she has reclaimed it an no one aside from Kaneis is allowed in it.]

No! [A sigh, and then less immediately.] ...No. I've got everything under control, Pascal.

[Poking his head in, hoping it's okay--]

Do you need any help? You've been in there for a little while.

[She turns to smile at him.]

It's not necessary! I just want to make sure I've made enough food for everyone. [But with Allen around is there every really "enough" for everybody? No, probably not.]

Thank you for the offer though. I didn't know you cooked.

DINING / MINGLING

[Sit around and eat dinner and talk about the food or the weather or how shitty last month was or whatever your heart desires! Who let me make this log I'm so lazy.]

[Asbel's being good. He's not interrupting Cheria in the kitchen this time or asking how the food's coming along. Instead, he's invited a couple of friends, and is making it his new goal to try and introduce everyone and explain how they know each other or recounting tales of how they first met.]

...Of course, I didn't listen real well back then. So me and Hubert headed up to Lhant Hill anyway. And that's where we met Sophie.

[And he's listening while he's helping prepare food near the entrance of the kitchen.]

Lhant Hill? What's that like?

[Kaneis is sitting at the table during dinner. He's been mostly listening to people's conversations and occasionally contributing (he doesn't have any stories to give that'd make good dinner topics anyway). His portion seems relatively small, especially compared to some of the big eaters in the room. Though he sure notices something]

...Is it just me or is the curry not at all spicy?

[Asbel glances up from his own plate, pinged by the mention of his all-time, most favorite dish.]

Yeah, it's not supposed to be spicy. It's mild curry.

[At least, in this guy's expert opinion anyway. He says it so casually, as if this is a generally accepted truth. As if this elusive thing known as spicy curry (what blasphemy!) is a thing of myths.]

[Calling Christopher 'gregarious' is an understatement, but for those who have seen him at his most assholeish (hi Kaneis) he is actually being relatively well-behaved. Yes, he still looks like a freak, and he is still probably crazy, and when he contributes to a conversation it's usually a little off. But he's also polite and respectful, he is avoiding discussing the criminal aspects of his lifestyle (meaning almost all of it), and he often seems content to sit and eat and listen. Christopher really loves watching families and friends together, and this is an enviably close family. He thinks he understands why Asbel can be the person he is if these are his friends.

However. Christopher is Christopher. Which is why his contributions end up like this—]

Though it's so very difficult with all of this rain, personally, I think our first priority should be to plant flowers on every street and in every house. Nature takes care of Herself, after all! Such a contribution to Nature's balance would be artificial itself, obviously, but since it was artificially ruined, it's more or less just like multiplying two negatives together to get a positive.

[He's a little odd, but Cheria's used to odd people in her life. She smiles, taking a bite of food before replying.]

That doesn't sound like such a bad idea! Maybe while we're rebuilding, we can plant some flowers too. It'll help with the dreariness of this place for sure.

Um, yeah. I guess that makes sense?

[...He thinks. The whole "Nature takes care of herself" thing lost him entirely, but he's glad Christopher was able to make it. Especially after finding out how enthusiastic he is about making friends. And this whole flower thing sounds like something Sophie would want to do. As long as they don't go completely overboard with it.]

Besides, it shouldn't matter if someone planted the flowers or if they grew their on there own, as long as people can appreciate and enjoy them.

[ ANY FRIEND OF ASBEL IS SOPHIE'S FRIEND TOO.

Sophie is quietly picking away at her plate, which has a medium-sized portion of crablettes and other kinds of food (most likely because Cheria encourages her to have variety in her meals.) But she perks up when Christopher brings up flowers. She's a little lost on the second part regarding the Nature's balance because she's like Asbel, but she sure does agree about planting flowers... ]

Planting flowers on every street and house is a great idea!

I don't think it works that way. Not that more plants would be a bad thing, but...

[Emil's present and participating, but he's definitely a little bit subdued - looking around a few times for no clearly evident reason, speaking up less than he normally would, and he's definitely being kind of vague on the details of his life should the subject ever come up. General Exsilium life is a safe topic though.]

Why is it always raining, anyway? All that water has to come from somewhere.

[It's not something Asbel has ever really stopped to think about too hard. Back on Ephinea he would've assumed it had something to do with the flow of eleth, but here? He's not too sure. That and the rain seems to be miraculously and frustratingly endless.]

That's a good question... I'm sure Hubert would know the answer. Maybe something's wrong with the energies on this planet?

[And at least one person at the table is making no secret of the fact that he's watching Emil - after the revelation about Aster existing makes the similarities in awkwardness between Emil and Luke obvious. There's no doubt as to which is the original.

That still leaves many questions, but the dinner table probably won't get any answers.]

WALL FIXING

[Yes there is certainly wall fixing going on here. Specifically, Asch with a board against the wall and a couple nails pressed between his lips -

Clearly, the best time to hassle him is when he can't talk back. Although, he might just opt for hitting you with the hammer instead.]

[In between waiting for things to simmer and boil, Cheria eventually finds her way over to their handyman. Ah- it was someone she'd met when she first got here. She hadn't really gotten off on a good foot with him.

Still, she approaches anyway, determined to fix that and also to check on the repairs. Maybe nag a little. Depends on how shoddy they are.]

[Don't mind this guy, Asch. He'd offer to help anyone. Asbel stands a bit off to the side, watching him with mild curiosity. But, you know, it's kind of strange. If this guy's hair was shorter and he didn't look like he was concentrating so hard, Asbel could solemnly swear it was Luke.]
