Date & Time: Friday the 7th, 4pm to midnight.
Location: Palace of Versailles, France, 1772.
Characters: anyone! Even characters not yet accepted as of when this log goes up. 8)
Summary: It's just some fancy masquerade dance with spiked punch.
Warnings: here be pictures, slow connections beware.

Welcome to Versailles.

The decorations are arranged, the food is prepared and laid out, the music has been rehearsed, and... most people have their costumes and masks ready. At precisely 1600, the Transporter machine activates, and a full room of people and all of their decorations, food, musical instruments, and costumes are sent back to 1772. The Palace of Versailles is in the height of its splendor, the weather is perfect and cloudless, and the gardens are in full bloom for the spring.

➣ Explore the Palace

Holy shit look at this, you have the chance to get your grubby little fingers all over history before it even becomes properly history. Do you know how many famous butts sat in all these plush velvet chairs? Or are going to sit in these plush velvet chairs? And they were all probably just talking the hell out of French, too. Wow. Go invade some bedrooms, poke your head into the kitchens (but no more than that, or territorial cooking elves might take offense), just. Touch everything. Everything. Just know that where ever you are, there's no escaping that beautiful music your fellow Transports are inflicting on you, that shit's just echoing all over the place tonight.

➣ Admire the Gardens

Jeez look at this, these people just had way too much money. But you get to benefit from it! You can basically just get yourself lost for hours here, so try not to starve or anything. Meet all the statues, go streaking through the fountains (please don't, no one wants to see that), get lost and desperately burst through cute little trees in your increasingly frantic attempts to find the exit. There's all sorts of fun you can have!

Just don't wander too close to the edge of the grounds, or you'll encounter (run into?) the invisible forcefield set up to keep wandering guests from utterly ruining history. That's probably a good way to get yourself a bloody nose.

➣ Enjoy the Banquet

There's tables and tables of this finger-licking good finery here, and it's all for you. And can you believe how fancy it is? Oh my god, those sausages have adorable little spears through them. And those spoons gently cradling their cheesy goodness? Yeah. They're made of crackers. And don't even get me started on these desserts. This is amazing. You've never eaten this good. And naturally, each drink (some of which are spiked, you're welcome) has adorable little frozen flowers in the ice cubes. Who even comes up with this stuff? Elves, that's who.

[She did know him well after all. And hey what's what supposed to mean? He's always been one for going to a party. Just he's new to the whole social uptight ones. First one was that job for the puckered lips noble guy.]

I know! Seems my luck's really kicking in since coming here. First my weapon and now this mask. Oh and found out something before coming here.

[Quickly slips on his gauntlets and strikes a fighting pose.]

Eh? Ehh? Don't they look just great together?

[ Parties like the ones at Fairy Tail, and galas like this one are like comparing oranges and apples though! Her grin widens as he shows off his gauntlets. ]

They really do, they look really cool, Natsu. It's almost like someone knew. Or maybe your timing was just really really good. [ Luck. PURE luck! ]

[Well that means she'll have to teach him about these galleys thing....he'll stick to calling it a party if that's okay.]

They were meant to be mine that's for sure~

[He's actually quite fond of the weapon. Probably something to do with the dragon theme.]

So how's the party so far? Sorry I'm late by the way.

[Scans left and right for Erza.]

Tell it straight Lucy, how late am I really?

[She might hear a tinge of fear.]

[ A shake of her head follows. ]

It's okay, you just got here after all. I mean, to Exsilium. [ He had to get his bearings and ... okay so he was a little late. But not THAT late, just ...maybe twenty minutes. Certainly not so late that Erza would let him have it, right? ]

You're not that late at all! It's just a few minutes really -! [ ... ... ]

Erza...may have ... gone to look for you. [ Cough. ]

Yeah. Not to mention how I got here.

[Aka with his magic completely drained. Damn you Eclipse gate.]

[He's just going to pale a bit hearing that Erza might be looking for him. She's a stickler for punctuality and honor and the like. May gods have mercy on his soul...unless.]

You gotta cover for me, Lucy. Say I showed up right after the last time you saw her!

[He's begging. Look even the puppy dog eyes he used on Milliana...wait those were hurt trapped kitten eyes. Well you get it.]

[ Sympathetic for how Natsu had arrived, Lucy can't help but grin at the pleading. She didn't blame him for being terrified if Erza found out he was late. ]

Okay, Okay, I'll tell her -[ Just don't use those eyes on her like that ;.; ... wait, if Erza finds out she fibbed won't she be in trouble too? ]

[Better be ready then because here's a very quick and tight Natsu hug.]

Thanks Lucy. You just saved my skin.

[Yeeaaa hopefully not...Then again if it comes to that he'll get it too so at least you won't be alone, right?]

[Lets go and looks around.]

This is even fancier than the last one we went to.

[Hopefully no fights break out. For Lucy's sake that is.]

[ Whoop - she wasn't ready, from the surprised look on her face, but she smiles, her cheeks a bit pinker than before. Totally your imagination though. ]

Yeah, really. There's a lot more to it too - I've still not finished exploring even half of the grounds.

[ Ohgod no, no fights please *sob* ]

[Imagination or not he doesn't notice so it's all good. Just let him take off those gauntlets since eating with them would be pretty problematic.]

They let you wander around everywhere? Or are there some places they stopped you from going into?

[You know so he knows where to start poking his nose into.]

Hmmm... [ Lucy has to think about it actually, because she's been to a lot of places here so far. ]

I think we actually have free reign, as long as we don't touch anything expensive, or try to take anything back with us. I haven't seen anywhere that they've said we couldn't be.

Oh really? Wow that's a first. Usually these rich palace types have all sorts of juicy secrets they don't want people to wander into.

[And those secrets usually lead to ADVENTURE and that's his favorite pastime.]

Pssh as if we'd steal anything.

[That wasn't their line of work after all. They caught those people instead.]

[ Natsu, don't go looking for trouble ;o; ... what is she saying, he lives for it. ]

Ah yeah, and that might still be true, but I haven't found it if that's the case. I've already been in the garden - somewhat. I didn't want to get lost in it, and it's so winding it's like a labyrinth already! [ And she doesn't have Pyxis. Yet. ]

[Exactly. Trouble = fun in Natsu's language~]

Hmmmm I guess that's true. And with a ceiling above us we can't really follow the directions from the sky.

[Frowns before giving a small shudder.]

Maybe we should find Erza too before we decide on anything.

[Keeping her majesty out of the loop would probably cost them their heads especially if they got in trouble and she had to bail them out.]

Right. We should...

[ But... but Lucy wants to have fuuuuuun. Actually, an idea hits upon her. ]

One dance, first. [ The way she figures, if their habit of drawing trouble kicks in, she would at least be able to get some fun beforehand. ]

We can keep an eye out for Erza too.

[Blinks owlishly at her proposition.]

Well okay. Just no floating platforms this time, please.

[At least he knows he won't step on her feet anymore like during training. And he knows Lucy is a much safer dancer than either Erza or Lisanna.]

[ Yay! Lucy beams, grabbing for his hand. ]

Don't worry, they don't have anything like that here!

[ Man wouldn't that be a crazy coincidence if there were? But she pulls him out onto the dance floor, and as promised, she does cast a quick glance around for their red haired friend. ]

[Good thing he put the gauntlets away before hand. Last thing he wanted was to hurt Lucy with those armored talons. Smiling Lucy is the best Lucy after all.]

Well that's a relief.

[He follows her cautiously trying not to stumble because wow is she enthusiastic.]

You really like dancing huh?

[ Y-yes, let's not hurt her pretty little hands. ]

Well, I don't get much of an opportunity to go out dancing like this. And there's something about the atmosphere here. I guess it brings it out of me.

[ It's a little like the balls back home, when her dad tried shuffling her out to suitors, but she dun wanna think about that. ]

You remember your lessons? [ She grins, teasing. ]

Erza might re-teach you if you step on my feet.

I guess there were somethings you did like about your life before.

[Not that he's doubting she likes her Fairy Tail life. Just somethings never changed.]

[And thankfully some things did. Like his ability to dance!]

I remember! I remember I swear!

[Damn Lucy must you really strike fear into him like that?

I guess. Some parts of it I didn't mind, but - [ She rests one hand on his shoulder, taking hold of his other. ]

I'd still give it up in a heartbeat if I had to do it all over again. [ She was happiest in Fairy Tail. And she's sorry Natsu but she just bursts into laughter at his reaction, unable to speak for a second or two. ]

Okay, I'll believe you, Natsu! [ Hee. Oh come on it's fun to have a little fear now and again! *cough* ]

So you're really feeling better from last time?

You wouldn't be Lucy of Fairy Tail if you didn't.

[The same Lucy he respects and in some aspects even admires. Not that she'll catch him dead saying that out loud unless the situation is really dire and she needs that emotional boost.]

[His hand joins with hers while his other settles lightly on her hip just like he was taught.]

[The color is returning to his face thankfully even if he looks like he's concentrating on some of his closer steps.]

Yeah. After that fire you made me and a few snacks in my own room, I'm pretty much good as new.

[Evidenced by his trademark grin.]

[ Lucy grins widely at that, nodding agreement. And as he promised, no foot stepping is had! Though she won't bring it up again, much as she was quietly amused by his reaction. ]

I'm glad - you had me worried for a while there. It's strange to see you looking like that. [ All weak like a kitten. ]

Kind of like when we first met up again in Edolas, ne? [ Like when she'd thought she was the strongest and was the only one with magic. That was a little embarrassing. ]

[Hey he might not know a lot of things but he's a pretty quick learner. After all he can figure out an opponents pacing and weakness now.]

Yeah sorry. But I would still do it anyway. Even if I knew that gate was gonna suck up all my magic power.

[Cause she was in danger. Cause those stupid kingdom guards were taking her away on some bullshit charges when they never even agreed to that stupid plan.]

Yea sorta like that only without the dungeon and this time Wendy didn't get caught with me.

[Slowly dancing along making sure to not bump into any of the other pairs. He's pretty sure that would be just as bad as foot stomping.]

[ He was a fighting prodigy! Lucy pauses, smiling softly at that. ]

I know you would. That's just the way you are, Natsu. You and anyone else in the guild - if our places were reversed we'd do the same thing you did in a heartbeat.

[ Another pause, and she nods, grimacing a little at the reminder. Even though she's the one that brought it up. ]

And without strange alternate versions of ourselves, or people we knew. [ It was too creepy seeing that world's Erza saying such horrible, hateful things. ]

[Yup yup. Now he was finally starting to really act like one too.]

Damn straight we would. Even so that overgrown doorway still ate up all my magic.

[And then because of that she was captured. Dammit all. Well at least she was safe here.]

Yours was really scary and tough.

[He can still hear his back creaking aat the suplex and various wrestling moves Lucy Ashley put him through]
