[ She's familiar with the particular manner that humans have been treating her with in Black Rock and can recognize it at work here, but, watching Kang with his trio, she has to admit that she's gotten off lightly. Well, at least in public. There have been a few humans she's found it easier to kill than tolerate, but they behave themselves better around others.

But that aside, this is a sight that makes her slow her steps. She's not worried for Kang. If he's any part dragon, even metallic, he'll be able to handle himself. It's more the show that she's interested in, really.

So she smiles a little, arms folding across her chest as she leans against a nearby post to watch. (So much for anyone stepping in with a few diplomatic words.) ]

[The humans aren't interested in words anymore, and one of them swings at Kang. He dodges, though, and grabs the man's wrist with his left hand, squeezing tightly and twisting. One of the other humans rushes forward to try and tackle him to the ground, but he kneels down and pivots, using his tail to knock him off of his feet.]

You'd best leave before I get serious.

[He hasn't noticed Onyx watching him yet.]

[ Well, "Onyx" will be happy to announce herself. Really, this looks too good to skip over entirely, now that the fighting has started. With a gesture of one hand and a quiet whisper, she sends a swirl of bright lights to dance around the head of the third assailant, rendering him too busy with crying out in bewildered dismay to try attacking.

She smiles, satisfied. It's not much, but it will do. ]

[The human on the ground curses, and makes it clear with his words that he's not backing down; before he can get up off his knees, Kang puts a foot on his back and shoves, using his greater weight to keep him down. The other human cries out in pain and swings with his other fist, but it only hits Kang's chest. He sighs, and twists the arm to pull it uncomfortably behind the human's back.

Those lights surprise him, and he looks around to finally spot Onyx.]

They just don't know when to quit sometimes.

['They' being humans.]

[ She looks just about ready to laugh (but resists, even if it does come far more easily to her human shape), and she pushes off from her lean against the wall to come a little closer. ]

At least they're always willing to provide an afternoon's entertainment.

[ The man rubbing his wrist looks bewildered between the two of them, but it doesn't stop her from flicking a small ball of fire toward the base of his shirt. It catches quickly, and he quickly gains more to be concerned about than just his wrist. She glances at Kang, proud. ]

I've been practicing that one.

[Interesting, that she doesn't need to say the words to the spell in order to cast it. Kang snorts as the man with his shirt on fire runs off to the nearest water trough instead of rolling on the ground to put it out. The man on the ground stops struggling, and looks up with fear, begging for mercy.]

Think I should give it to him?

[He just wants to mess with the human.]

I can see. You've gotten very good at it.

[ The compliment gets an earnest smile, rare as it is pleased. She stops at the head of the man on the ground, considering him. Usually the answer would be no, of course, but Kang has just put her in a merciful mood. ]

It looks to me like he's learned his lesson. [ Her smile is sugary sweet in its taunting, which she's also been practicing. ] Well, almost. It won't stick if he keeps all his limbs.

I'm in a generous mood today.

[He leans down to speak directly to the human after glancing around for others in the area, pushing the button on his device to make the illusion disappear.]

If you and your friends bother me again, or I catch you bothering anyone else, you won't get off so easily. Understood?

[To make his point, he digs the claws on his foot in slightly.]

[ She catches the fiddling with the device but, of course, not the result. She can only assume he's done something to turn it off. Distracted as she is, and terribly amused by it all as she is, she manages to entirely lose track of the man she'd made temporarily blind. He'd shaken it off and gathered himself, and now there's a slow, knife-out approach from behind her. Onyx misses it entirely. ]

[Kang doesn't miss it, however, and quickly moves away from the man on the ground to knock the knife out of the other man's hand and pin him against the wall with a low growl deep in his chest.]

Not a good idea, human.

[The first human shakily gets up and only hesitates for a second before running away, leaving his friend behind.]

[ Kang's move puzzles her at first, until her quick turn brings the reason for it into sight. Oh. Right. She'd forgotten that human. She steps away to scoop up the knife, and tucks it into her belt. ]

You should kill that one. He's not about to learn manners any time soon.

I should.

[He does consider it, briefly.]

Leaving the body of a local might jeopardize the mission, though.

[He's careful to not say what the mission is. For all the human knows, it could be a hostile invasion by demons.]

[ She looks displeased by that, but... it's probably true. ]

Then knock him senseless and leave him. This has gotten old.

[Kang snorts, and pulls his dagger from his belt, using the hilt to knock the man out. He makes no move to put the body in a more comfortable position after it slumps to the ground.]

I doubt anyone will believe them.

[He kicks the body lightly and resets the illusion.]

What would it matter if they did? No one in this dusty town is a threat.

[ Speaking of this dusty town, degrading humans is thirsty work. She's a little brighter again when she looks back to Kang. ]

Let's get something to drink.

They are in numbers, especially with those guns.

[He nods, though, and smiles.]

That's one good thing about this town. It doesn't lack in alcohol.
