I know. But we finally get a mission that ain't... And we can't even do a damn thing. Why even send us?

[He's frustrated because he has been trying this time, and getting nowhere sucks. He sighs.]

Dammit.

We don't have to do it if we don't want to. [Naoto certainly isn't doing a thing.] There are others who are doing well for themselves already.

I just... don't wanna get stuck doin' missions I won't do, you know? I thought by helpin' out with this one, then maybe...

[He's still very concerned over the last mission. Still sick at heart, a little.]

Public speaking is not our forte. [Yep, she readily admits it.] Souji-senpai's definitely, but not ours.

Yeah, you got me there.

[For a couple moments he's silent, lost in worries, but then he forces a little cheer.]

Since we ain't getting nowhere with the mission, wanna... explore or something?

[Yeah, he gets way more awkward as that sentence continues.]

... We might as well. [Being idle is not something she's a fan of, but honestly she'd been idle since arriving, save for having to get rid of a few wild animals at night.]

At the very least, we could get some sort of sightseeing done before we have to leave.

I bet there's cool things out there. I've never been to a desert.

Or anywhere, really.

[He laughs at himself, Naoto's company and the prospect of something pleasant helping to relieve the frustration and stress.]

This place isn't ideal for field trips, I hope you understand that.

I know that. But what else can we do?

[He actually looks at her, seriously expecting an answer. Don't let him down!]

Let's be off then. Just don't attempt to steal any horses like Yosuke-senpai, though.

[She pulls a mock-serious face. ... though her face is almost always serious anyway.]

I don't think I'm interested. A ridin' lesson might be cool, but I dunno if anyone would even say yes to that.

[He pauses awkwardly.]

Where would you like to go?

Anywhere but here-- you may lead the way.

[Pause.] But not too far.

Alright. Cool.

[And he just starts walking. He has no idea where he's going, except away from the center of town. He is, at least heading unknowingly towards the river instead of out into the desert though, so there is that.]
