Yeah? How would I know? [ Raising your hand for the waiter, which she does when she notices him glancing around. She's still finishing up the last bite of her pie, but that counts as done, she's pretty sure. ]

[ You get a look, even though you're being helpful. ] You'd just know.

[ You can get a look right back okay. ] That's not really helpful.

Well I guess you'll have to piss me off to know what you're getting.

Eh, I think I'll pass on that. [ A beat, and then she clears her throat a little. ] Thanks for dinner.

[ Ew, no. ] We can recommence the lessons when we get back.

Yeah, if you really want to. [ After a moment's halt, because seriously, she's not a good date. As evidenced by her immediate desire to flee now. ] Passing on your knowledge and all that. I hope your boredom got lifted, you bored seems dangerous.

Dangerous how? [ I mean, obviously, yes it is, but he wants to know why she thinks that. ]

You know too much. [ Tapping her head a little in the traditional gesture of 'knowledge up here'. ] And you're volatile. Put the two things together, add a dash of boredom, and it's not going to be pretty.

I would have used the term 'catalytic' instead of 'volatile'. [ It's basically the same thing when used abstractly but that doesn't mean it doesn't at least feel nicer. ]

Ha. They mean close enough to the same thing, I guess. Different scientific connotations but I wasn't being too precise.

Hurt my feelings; I'm not worth the effort of precision?

I thought my sentence got across the meaning pretty well without needing to go into precision detail.

Yeah, it was pretty concise.

[ A quirk of a smile on the edge of her lips for a moment, and then she sticks her hand out. ] Conciseness is a good thing. Try to stay out of trouble.
