Date & Time: Jan 12th to Jan 19th (real time), July 11th to July 18th (historical time), 1884
Location: Black Rock, New Mexico, USA
Characters: All transports
Summary: Fearing UE reprisal, the Initiative corrals all transports and shoos them onto a mission back to the Wild West, to vote Gerald "Moony" Jackson in as Mayor of Black Rock. Transports are encouraged to used all their wiles to encourage townsfolk to vote in favor of him, too. Other than that, they're free to roam as they will for 7 whole days! Good luck finding food and shelter, masses. (See the OOC post for more information.)

The Initiative had been terse and rushed as they gathered the transports into the Transporter room, and anyone unwilling to participate will have been forcibly hurried along. The Initiative employees had seemed distracted and worried, and unwilling to stand around and debate. It was time to move. The teleportation had gone off without a hitch, and a roomful of transports have been treated, quite suddenly, to a broad and sunny blue sky, and especially to the heat of mid July in the American West.

Enjoy your weeklong stay in Black Rock, New Mexico! The town is small and sleepy, with just 3 good saloons and one questionable (but considerably cheaper) one. There are a few inns, but these inns aren't quite prepared to room a sudden influx of over 300 travelers, and some people might have to bunk up or get creative with their sleeping arrangements. If you sleep in an inn at all, of course. There's plenty of unexplored wilderness out there to sleep in instead, isn't there? Just make sure to check your boots for scorpions in the morning.

The only instructions are "vote for Gerald "Moony" Jackson for Mayor, and try to convince others to do the same", and you've been given just enough money to cover a very sparse room and board for 7 days, if you don't spend it in anything else.

So, how do you spend your time?

Edit: Overflow log!

Sakura grimaced at the heat, feeling the metal joinings of her legs to the natural flesh of her thigh and thanking Bruce Wayne mentally for the service that had unwittingly ended up coming through to fruition. Managing temperature change with automail itself was difficult, but especially without a regular mechanic around who could help with system issues.

Thoughts like these were what had her on the look out for a familiar face, particularly after learning Winry had been here, and now was gone. Her hologram showed the people who lived in this time a young man, wearing a mustache and a day's worth of stubble. She found the convenience of not needing to expend any of her own energy to blend in practical.

It let her focus on the few things she wanted to get done: finding Ino, and finding Edward Elric. Two stubborn blonds with different motivations and different reactions to what was going on around them, no doubt, but only one similarly blessed with metal extensions of their body.

When she found him, Sakura debated over the best approach. In the end, direct seemed... almost better, given a lack of witnesses around to necessarily hear them. With a pleasant smile, Sakura approached from the front. "You know, Mr. Elric, you're a hard man to track down when you don't want to be found."

By this time of day, the wall Ed was loitering next to may as well not have been there for all the relief it provided from the sun beating down all around it. His hologram didn't show it as much as his actual appearance, despite how close it was otherwise (contact lenses and something to cover his arm would have done most of the job, really), but this mission was already taking its toll on him. The heat, the sand... oh, plus the whole reason he and everyone else had been dragged out here in the first place, hard to forget that. Hard to remember he'd been in considerably less comfortable places before, for that matter.

As far as he was concerned, then, nobody could have blamed him for the expression on his face the moment he heard his name and looked sharply up.

"Didn't realise I needed tracking," he said, shading his eyes with his left hand. "So what does that make you?"

"A concerned medic," she said nonchalantly, "And a good tracker." Both were true, if not the entirety of the truth. "Also an acquaintance of a mechanic we both know." Sakura stopped, showing both her empty palms to Ed before shifting so she can half-crouch down and pull on her leggings, inching them up to reveal the unmistakeable metal beneath them.

It was her way of offering an explanation when there was none to really provide, relying on what she knew of Exsilium alone.

Ed's eyes narrowed when he saw the glint of metal. Whether the legs were unmistakable by themselves, he wouldn't have been so sure; never mind Exsilium, assuming too much when it came to technology was something he'd been wary of since the first couple of times he'd passed through the Gate. But Winry? Winry was a different story. Winry was always a different story - and right now, this soon after the news, not one he was particularly happy to hear.

"An acquaintance, really? Or do you mean a customer?"

"Customer and friend," she temporized, straightening. "From worlds ago." Edward was intelligent enough to guess what that could mean, in a litany of possibilities expanded on by the nature of this place.

"Though I never met her here." He deserved that much truth. Explaining further would make this conversation difficult, particularly when her own cybernetics were no longer the handiwork of Winry that she'd worn for those years.

Ed eyed her as she got up, his expression unmoving. The idea of this person having lived in multiple other worlds before winding up in Exsilium didn't faze him nearly as much as it possibly should have - after all, he had, and it wasn't as if the universe revolved around him.

"Well, if you're looking for her, you're out of luck," he said curtly. "Wherever the hell she went, she didn't warn me about it. Ask someone else."

He lowered his hand and turned away.

"Look who woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning." Sakura snorted, lips quirking up into a half smile. "I'm not looking for Winry. I was looking for you. Of course, if you're that intent on feeling sorry for yourself, by all means keep it up."

She clapped her hands together. "It's an almost admirable effort."

Actually, he hadn't had much of a bed to wake up on, but that wasn't contributing nearly as much to his current less-than-stellar mood as her reaction was right now. Ed huffed a little and rubbed the side of his neck with his left hand, stubbornly refusing to turn back around and face her properly. "Well, sorry for assuming when it sounded like that's all you wanted to talk about, but what am I supposed to think? I don't know what she might've told you or what version of me you could've run into before - I've never met you in my life. Either get to the point or deal with it."
