Date & Time: Jan 12th to Jan 19th (real time), July 11th to July 18th (historical time), 1884
Location: Black Rock, New Mexico, USA
Characters: All transports
Summary: Fearing UE reprisal, the Initiative corrals all transports and shoos them onto a mission back to the Wild West, to vote Gerald "Moony" Jackson in as Mayor of Black Rock. Transports are encouraged to used all their wiles to encourage townsfolk to vote in favor of him, too. Other than that, they're free to roam as they will for 7 whole days! Good luck finding food and shelter, masses. (See the OOC post for more information.)
The Initiative had been terse and rushed as they gathered the transports into the Transporter room, and anyone unwilling to participate will have been forcibly hurried along. The Initiative employees had seemed distracted and worried, and unwilling to stand around and debate. It was time to move. The teleportation had gone off without a hitch, and a roomful of transports have been treated, quite suddenly, to a broad and sunny blue sky, and especially to the heat of mid July in the American West.
Enjoy your weeklong stay in Black Rock, New Mexico! The town is small and sleepy, with just 3 good saloons and one questionable (but considerably cheaper) one. There are a few inns, but these inns aren't quite prepared to room a sudden influx of over 300 travelers, and some people might have to bunk up or get creative with their sleeping arrangements. If you sleep in an inn at all, of course. There's plenty of unexplored wilderness out there to sleep in instead, isn't there? Just make sure to check your boots for scorpions in the morning.
The only instructions are "vote for Gerald "Moony" Jackson for Mayor, and try to convince others to do the same", and you've been given just enough money to cover a very sparse room and board for 7 days, if you don't spend it in anything else.
So, how do you spend your time?
Edit: Overflow log!

Open - some racist stuff
[ They should have warned about the sunlight. For a split second, Sho was feeling the warmth seep into his bones, the kind of warm that - while wasn't the humid air of Mallepa - was still welcomed. Then he felt the sharp sting of skin exposed to too much light starting to peel. It also didn't help that with the peeling, his skin hissed and smoked, a sure sign that he was going to go up in flames before he even had time to see his surroundings.
And while he might be okay with dying, he certainly didn't want to end up a pile of ash in the middle of the street.
He was so glad that he had on his heavy white leather coat. Instinct had him pull it over his head, giving him enough of a moment to orientate himself and run for cover. Once away from the light - most likely having climbed into a hayloft after startling a few people as he raced on by as fast as a vampire can race - he curses in all the languages he knows and sulks. Because he is so grown up. ]

[ This bar wasn't the worse of the bunch, nor was it the best of the bunch. There were a few regulars who hung around talking about the sudden influx of travelers and drinking. The card games were a little easy to get into and there was definitely some working ladies wandering about or hanging off of people's arms.
In the middle of that was Sho, who looked like he had walked out of a gunslinger catalogue sans the hat thanks the the Initiative's gizmo. He ignored the hard stares out of a lifetime of dealing with it (Japanese in a Chinese city was just as bad as this was), ordering whiskey and chatting with the barkeep about the town and the mayor race until one drunk - maybe spurred on by his fellow drinkers - decided to try to take out the Oriental with a chair. In the following chaos, one poor drinker got tossed out the window. Want to join in? ]

[Come up with anything else with Sho!]
ii - bar
He was about to retreat to the shade the bar offers when the sun is at its highest, and had only just about to turn into the door when all of a sudden, something comes crashing through the front window. It's a Man, thrown bodily through the glass and nearly bowling the hobbit over
And there are more angry shouts inside, as more of the Man's friends decide to take on whoever it was that did this]

So he was trying to be gentle. The first guy that went through the window was his only nod to the strength he does have. Sho let them get in their licks, acting a little with the blows so that they didn't notice that he was healing from said blows. He hit back, not bothering with drawing his guns since gunplay might end up with someone getting killed and that would be dangerous. ]

Once he is certain that the man is all right - if knocked out - Frodo peeks into the bar. There is a Man in white fighting against a swirling ground of locals.]

It stung. Sho yanked it out and pressed his hand against the bleeding, knowing it was only going to bleed for a moment or two before his body repaired itself. Some of the locals were picking themselves up from where he tossed them, a couple others still laid groaning in their corners, and he looked at them with a growing hunger before giving a shake of his head and headed right for the door. And he spotted Frodo standing there, watching. ]
Hey, wanna do me a favor?
no subject
Yes, but we must get you out of here first!
[Frodo has managed to get to the Man's side]
no subject
Yeah, but not that way. Need to go where there's cover from the sun.
no subject
We must get you to safety, I hardly think this is the time to avoid the sun or heat.
no subject
[ He was willing to take that shoulder, only so he can have a general idea of where to go as the light stun his eyes. He wasn't going to look forward to the burn but if he can get a little hand in the right direction, well, that would be fine too.
And of course a couple of the locals were making their way towards them. Sho rolls his eyes, takes out a gun and shoots the hat off of one. ]
Don't get stupider than you are.
no subject
All right then. [he sounds doubtful; how could sun harm anyone? He did not look like an orc at all or a goblin or a troll. He whispers] The back door looks as clear as it can be, but they must not come after us. I can hardly run with you once we are out.
no subject
I can carry you if they do. Just don't freak out when I start burning.
no subject
You shall do no such thing; you are injured and I hardly need to be carried like so much luggage. [his voice rises a little] And what do you mean, 'start burning'?
no subject
Especially when he decided to test just how bad it was by sticking his hand out into the dappled sunbeam. There was a slight hiss as it touched his skin, and faint wisps of smoke appeared. ]
You can say sunlight and I haven't gotten along in a long while due to a curse.
