Date & Time: Jan 12th to Jan 19th (real time), July 11th to July 18th (historical time), 1884
Location: Black Rock, New Mexico, USA
Characters: All transports
Summary: Fearing UE reprisal, the Initiative corrals all transports and shoos them onto a mission back to the Wild West, to vote Gerald "Moony" Jackson in as Mayor of Black Rock. Transports are encouraged to used all their wiles to encourage townsfolk to vote in favor of him, too. Other than that, they're free to roam as they will for 7 whole days! Good luck finding food and shelter, masses. (See the OOC post for more information.)

The Initiative had been terse and rushed as they gathered the transports into the Transporter room, and anyone unwilling to participate will have been forcibly hurried along. The Initiative employees had seemed distracted and worried, and unwilling to stand around and debate. It was time to move. The teleportation had gone off without a hitch, and a roomful of transports have been treated, quite suddenly, to a broad and sunny blue sky, and especially to the heat of mid July in the American West.

Enjoy your weeklong stay in Black Rock, New Mexico! The town is small and sleepy, with just 3 good saloons and one questionable (but considerably cheaper) one. There are a few inns, but these inns aren't quite prepared to room a sudden influx of over 300 travelers, and some people might have to bunk up or get creative with their sleeping arrangements. If you sleep in an inn at all, of course. There's plenty of unexplored wilderness out there to sleep in instead, isn't there? Just make sure to check your boots for scorpions in the morning.

The only instructions are "vote for Gerald "Moony" Jackson for Mayor, and try to convince others to do the same", and you've been given just enough money to cover a very sparse room and board for 7 days, if you don't spend it in anything else.

[Ezio's walking out of one of the stores, having bought nothing but having learned valuable information. He could walk, of course, but he much prefers to go about on horseback right now. It's a small reminder of his home.

Ezio pets the horse momentarily before noticing a girl with her own horse. In a place like this and coming from a place like Exsilium, it's hard to tell if she's a local or not.]

I take you are fond of your horse.

[Lena looks up at the voice, noting the accent and wondering if he's from Exsilium, or just a recent immigrant to the West.]

Oh, he's not mine. I hope his owner doesn't mind me feeding him.

[To the horse, she adds:]

Don't you go telling.

I doubt anyone would mind something so kind.

[He chuckles softly at the girl's comment to the horse.]

I think the horse will stay silent so long as you will.

Then I think I'm safe.

[She pats the horse's nose before turning her attention to the man.]

Exsilium?

[If he's a local, she'll just pretend she misspoke. Or erase his memory of her asking him. No big deal.]

[Ezio nods.]

It was just a guess. Now I know I don't have to convince you to vote for this Moony guy.

I would suggest to do it together, but you have done well in convincing the horse not to speak of your apple.

[She rolls her eyes, but looks amused all the same.]

I've been doing pretty well on my own, yeah. I can be persuasive when I want to be.

I imagine you can be.

Oh, yeah? What makes you say that? First impression, gut feeling?

A young, beautiful girl can convince anyone of anything.

[Whoa, buddy. This girl's taken.]

I know someone who would say that's 100% true, but she cheats. She'd make you jump off a cliff if she wanted to.

[He's not actually hitting on her, he's just stating what he sees...

Besides age isn't really a thing in his day and age.]

Cheats? How so?

[She looks him up and down, glances around them, then lowers her voice, just in case.]

You've seen people in Exsilium use their powers, right? Well, she has the power of persuasion.

[Ezio cocks his head curiously, eyebrows furrowed.]

A useful power if used well.

That's just it; she doesn't always use it well. She does it for her own amusement. And in the past... she almost killed someone on orders from someone much worse. She might be able to put her powers to good use here, but I don't think she'd bother, since she wouldn't find it fun.

[Ezio sighs.]

Some people will only do as they please.

Yeah, I've discovered that.

Perhaps, then, it is for the best she is not here now.

[She nods, looking down at her feet.]

Probably. But she's still my cousin, and we used to be close. Part of me would like the company, but, yeah. It's probably for the best she isn't here.

Family is the one thing we have no choice of.

[She lets out a short laugh and nearly speaks, but stops herself. There was something else she once thought she didn't have a choice over, but in the end, she did.]

Guess you're right. Do you have a black sheep in your family too?

[Not him, but his uncle was the black sheep. Was. He really didn't have enough time with Petruccio to know if he'd end up the black sheep. Probably not.]

Not quite.

[She rolls her eyes.]
