Location: Black Rock, New Mexico, USA
Characters: All transports
Summary: Fearing UE reprisal, the Initiative corrals all transports and shoos them onto a mission back to the Wild West, to vote Gerald "Moony" Jackson in as Mayor of Black Rock. Transports are encouraged to used all their wiles to encourage townsfolk to vote in favor of him, too. Other than that, they're free to roam as they will for 7 whole days! Good luck finding food and shelter, masses. (See the OOC post for more information.)

The Initiative had been terse and rushed as they gathered the transports into the Transporter room, and anyone unwilling to participate will have been forcibly hurried along. The Initiative employees had seemed distracted and worried, and unwilling to stand around and debate. It was time to move. The teleportation had gone off without a hitch, and a roomful of transports have been treated, quite suddenly, to a broad and sunny blue sky, and especially to the heat of mid July in the American West.

Enjoy your weeklong stay in Black Rock, New Mexico! The town is small and sleepy, with just 3 good saloons and one questionable (but considerably cheaper) one. There are a few inns, but these inns aren't quite prepared to room a sudden influx of over 300 travelers, and some people might have to bunk up or get creative with their sleeping arrangements. If you sleep in an inn at all, of course. There's plenty of unexplored wilderness out there to sleep in instead, isn't there? Just make sure to check your boots for scorpions in the morning.

The only instructions are "vote for Gerald "Moony" Jackson for Mayor, and try to convince others to do the same", and you've been given just enough money to cover a very sparse room and board for 7 days, if you don't spend it in anything else.

[He's about to name a few highways, but that's useless since they don't exist yet. In fact, he can't even begin to describe it in a way that'd make sense in this time period. He shakes his head.]

Nevermind. It's stupid, anyway. I got no reason to go.

[Lilith turns toward him again, a curious look on her face. Jesse seems... different, even she can see that. He was a lot happier, before. Still, she hesitates, not really sure if she should ask.]

Is something wrong, Jesse?

Nah, I'm alright.

[Which is clearly a lie, but he's not about to unload on someone he hardly knows, even if she is real nice and understanding and probably wouldn't judge him even if he told her the whole story - he assumes from what he's gathered about her morality so far, at least.]

[Lilith is pretty morally lenient, for the most part. One of her bestest friends ever dismembers people with his bare hands on a pretty regular basis.

He has successfully deterred her, though. Lilith isn't the type to pry.]

Alright. Is there anywhere else you wanna go? Or I can leave you alone, if you really just wanna walk.

You wanna just walk with me?

[There's nowhere else he can even think to go... except back out to the desert. But there's no reason he has to be alone.]

[There's a look of surprise on her face for a second; she didn't think he'd ask her that. Not that she minds.]

Yeah, sure. I haven't got anything else to do.

Awesome.

It's kinda nice, anyway, just walking. Gives you time to appreciate it.

[Lilith looks out at everything and chortles a little.]

There isn't a whole lot to appreciate.

Aw, you don't like the desert? All this sand. And, like, rocks.

Ya know, even with all that, it's never been too interesting to me.

Yeah, I didn't used to like it that much, but... I dunno. It's nice after all that rain and shit. Plus, at night, the stars are seriously amazing.

[Oh no Jesse you critical hit her nostalgia.]

Yeah? Ya know, I guess I haven't actually seen the stars from this planet yet. Might be nice after all.
