Location: Black Rock, New Mexico, USA
Characters: All transports
Summary: Fearing UE reprisal, the Initiative corrals all transports and shoos them onto a mission back to the Wild West, to vote Gerald "Moony" Jackson in as Mayor of Black Rock. Transports are encouraged to used all their wiles to encourage townsfolk to vote in favor of him, too. Other than that, they're free to roam as they will for 7 whole days! Good luck finding food and shelter, masses. (See the OOC post for more information.)

The Initiative had been terse and rushed as they gathered the transports into the Transporter room, and anyone unwilling to participate will have been forcibly hurried along. The Initiative employees had seemed distracted and worried, and unwilling to stand around and debate. It was time to move. The teleportation had gone off without a hitch, and a roomful of transports have been treated, quite suddenly, to a broad and sunny blue sky, and especially to the heat of mid July in the American West.

Enjoy your weeklong stay in Black Rock, New Mexico! The town is small and sleepy, with just 3 good saloons and one questionable (but considerably cheaper) one. There are a few inns, but these inns aren't quite prepared to room a sudden influx of over 300 travelers, and some people might have to bunk up or get creative with their sleeping arrangements. If you sleep in an inn at all, of course. There's plenty of unexplored wilderness out there to sleep in instead, isn't there? Just make sure to check your boots for scorpions in the morning.

The only instructions are "vote for Gerald "Moony" Jackson for Mayor, and try to convince others to do the same", and you've been given just enough money to cover a very sparse room and board for 7 days, if you don't spend it in anything else.

I'm here and I'm in control of my powers, so it worked. Even if it was extreme.

So would you call it a happy ending, even stuck away from home and recruited for a war?

I couldn't say. There was a lot going on back home when I was brought here... I hope it's a happy ending, but I won't know for sure until I get back.

Makes sense. I do hope we're doing some good though, if our worlds really are in danger.

[Hey, her boyfriend saved the world. This is the least she can do after everything he did.]

Of course, if we go back we'll probably never know one way or the other.

You're less cynical than others here I've talked to. It reminds me of someone back home. He always looks for the silver lining.

[he has to smile at that. His older self called it being naive, but Peter likes to think of it as retaining hope. Even now he wants to believe there's some greater purpose behind all this]

It's not always easy to find, but I believe it's there.

So does he. He's always saying, "we'll figure something out." You would think it'd get annoying after awhile, but coming from him, it never does.

[She gazes into the fire, smiling to herself for a moment, then shrugs.]

If he were here, he'd be doing all he could to help, I think. As long as there was a chance it'd help our world, he'd do it. So that's what I'm going to do too.

Maybe you can introduce us, if he ever comes here. It sounds like he and I would get along.

[She bobs her head in agreement. Ethan doesn't have as many friends as he used to, but at least the ones he does have are true and willing to help him no matter what.]

I think you would too. And I really wish he would. We were separated for awhile and I just got him back, so being here without him has been terrible.

[Peter can't help but smile] You may be reunited soon. Whether by you going home or him coming here. You never know.

True. After all, stranger things have happened. What about you? If you can't get home, is there anyone you'd want to come to Exsilium? Your brother, maybe?

If we keep getting put on missions like this, yeah. Nathan would be perfect for this kind of thing. But if we have to fight, I think Hiro would be a better choice. He's a brave man and I've seen him wield a sword. Or maybe Matt, since he's a police officer.

Sounds like you have a whole group that could come in handy. My cousin could do stuff like this. She's a Siren, so she can persuade people to do anything. The only problem is, she'd have no interest in helping out.

I don't think I've met a siren... [or at least, not yet he hasn't] Having powers is a lot to handle. Not everyone uses them for good. I admit I've met my share of people who use their powers for their own benefit.

Yeah, we have a whole type like that back home. They're Dark. I guess not much changes between worlds -- people are who they are.
